Description
Our natural Mentha piperita hydrolate for foods comes from the species Mentha piperita and is classified in the botanical family Lamiaceae. The liquid bears the name Mentha Piperita natural hydrolate for food. The leaves provide the starting material for the extraction. Steam distillation determines the purity of the minty profile in the finished liquid. The strength of the fragrance is high, and the profile unites a minty, fresh and cooling side in a character that is recognizable throughout the entire mass of the liquid. The color ranges from colorless to slightly greenish, and the greenish note is directly due to the processed leaf part. The finished distillate is a clear and homogeneous liquid mass. The plants grow naturally in Bulgarian plantations, owing to the rejection of artificial agents in cultivation. Thus, the composition of the distillate remains entirely natural and consists solely of the substances derived from the processed leaves of the plants grown in the plantations. Preservatives and colorants are not part of the composition. The species is of hybrid origin, with a water and a spike-flowered representative at its basis. In addition, the aromatic substances are retained in the glandular hairs located on the aerial part. The aqueous phase of the distillate carries oxygenated monoterpenes and monoterpene alcohols, which explains the strength and persistence of the mint fragrance in the liquid. The leaf raw material provides the light tone, while steam extraction provides the purity of the aroma in the final liquid. Natural cultivation and steam processing combine in a liquid that preserves both the light tone and the strong mint fragrance of the original leaf mass. Mentha piperita hydrolate reaches its final form as a clear, light liquid with a high level of fragrance.
Application
Mentha piperita leaf hydrolate, obtained by steam distillation from natural cultivation, is used in the food industry as a flavoring ingredient with a fresh, minty taste. It is suitable for flavoring desserts and ice creams with a refreshing effect, chocolate products with a mint note, as well as chewing gums and candies with a pronounced refreshing taste. It is used in the production of sauces for lamb and veal, in salad dressings with an herbal aftertaste, as well as in glazes for baked goods with a mint nuance. It also finds application in jellied desserts with a refreshing character, in syrups for garnishing cocktails, as well as in tea blends with minty freshness. It is also used in the production of sugar-free chewing gums, in seasoning blends for home cooking, as well as in canned fruits with a delicate mint flavor. Its refreshing character also makes it suitable for fruit compotes and marmalades with a light minty freshness.
